Project: Music Heals Us will present a chamber music concert on Friday, May 6, at 7 p.m. at Guilford First Congregational Church, located at 122 Broad Street, Guilford.

A pre-concert talk will begin at 6 p.m. Critically acclaimed Solera Quartet, quartet-in-residence at the University of Notre Dame, will perform a program titled “Hidden Signs and Secret Messages” composed of works by Beethoven, Bach, and Mendelssohn.

Project: Music Heals Us is a non-profit organization that exists to perform healing concerts in nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, homeless shelters, and prisons across the shoreline. Five times a year, musicians from all over the world come to Guilford and Madison to perform several healing concerts up and down the shoreline and then the organization hosts one formal concert in a church in order to help raise funds to subsidize the other two days of healing concerts.

This set of healing concerts will take place in the Radgowski Prison, MacDougall Prison, and the Arden House nursing home in Hamden.

Tickets, available at the door, are $20 for adults and $5 for students, with all proceeds directly subsidizing additional Healing Concerts played in local nursing homes, hospitals, hospices, homeless shelters, and prisons.
