North Haven Holds Presidential Preference Primary on Aug. 11

North Haven voters registered as Democrats or Republicans can participate in the Tuesday, Aug. 11 Presidential Preference Primary, either in person from 6 a.m. to 8 p.m. or by absentee ballot.

New and unaffiliated voters may enroll in a party for the purpose of voting in the party’s primary by Thursday, Aug. 6. New voters can register in person through Monday, Aug. 10. Those unsure of their party affiliation or seeking information on registering can call the Registrars Of Voters at 203-239-5321 ext. 640.

Registered Democrats can cast a vote for Joe Biden, Bernie Sanders, Tulsi Gabbard, or uncommitted in the Presidential race.

Registered Republicans’ choices are Donald Trump, Roque “Rocky” De La Fuente, or uncommitted for the presidential race.

Those voting in person should report to their appropriate polling place, listed below. To find one’s polling place, visit www.northhaven-ct.gov or portaldir.ct.gov/sots/LookUp.aspx or call the Town Clerk’s Office at 203-239-5321 x630.

District 1: Wakeley Recreation Center Gym, 7 Linsley Street

District 2: Montowese Elementary School Gym, 145 Fitch Street

District 3-11: Ridge Road Elementary School Gym, 1341 Ridge Road

District 3-34: Ridge Road Elementary School Gym, 1341 Ridge Road

District 4: Green Acres Elementary School Gym, 146 Upper State Street

District 5: Clintonville Elementary School Gym, 456 Clintonville Road

Absentee ballots are available from the Town Clerk’s Office. Voters may also download an absentee ballot application from the secretary of the state website www.sots.ct.gov. Absentee ballots may be returned by mail or at the drop box in front of Town Hall.
