A  historic site on the CT Freedom Trail dedication took place on Sunday, at the former property of Judge Constance Baker Motley on Cedar Lake Road in Chester.  The public, friends and family turned out to celebrate the Chester Land Trust  creating the 7-acre Judge Constance Baker Motley Preserve on land the Motley family once owned, now included on the Freedom Trail  which is a state designation which honors extraordinary African Americans whose lives expanded the circle of freedom and opportunity for all Americans. Chester Land Trust Trustee, Jenny Kitsen gave the welcome remarks.

Valley Regional Boys’ Soccer Takes Defeat Versus Morgan

The fifth annual Chester Dog Fair was held Saturday, Sept. 14 and Sunday, Sept. 15 at the Chester Fairgrounds. The fair featured a doggie lure course, food truck and live music, a beer and wine tent, demonstrations and doggie olympics, a $20 microchip clinic, a bounce house, vendors, raffles, and canine good citizenship testing. Admission is $5 per family. The event supports Homeward Bound CT, a volunteer rescue organization.   For more information, visit www.homewardboundct.org.

The market runs through October 13th every Sunday from 10am to 1 pm. Dana Takaki and Bruce Thorndike entertain at the Farmers Market.
