Skate Rink Opening at Westbrook Outlets

Ice skating has come to Westbrook Outlets, just a week before Santa. The Westbrook Outlets ice skating rink, Skate Westbrook, will quietly open on Saturday, Dec. 15 at 2 p.m., without fanfare or celebration. Christmas festivities are scheduled for the following Saturday, Dec. 22, from 1 to 3 p.m., when Santa and his elves will make themselves available at the rink for photos with children. This is a free event that does not include skating, fees for which are listed below.

The initial news about the rink was “very well received,” said Westbrook Outlets General Manager Melissa Cook.

“If it’s popular, we’ll keep it year-round. That’s our ultimate goal,” she said.

For the weekend of Dec. 15 and 16, hours will be as follows: Saturday from 2 to 5:30 p.m. and 6 to 9 p.m.; Sunday from 11 a.m. to 1 p.m., 1:30 to 3:30 p.m., and 4 to 7 p.m.

Fees are $7 for adults, $5 for students and members of the military, and free for 3 and under. Skate rentals will be $3.

Future hours and programs will be updated at www.westbrookoutlets.com/events.

The rink is located across from H&M in Suite A150. Future events are being planned and the rink is available for special events.
