Clinton Man Charged with Setting Fire to his Residential Treatment Facility

A 27-year-old Clinton man has been charged with arson in relation to an early morning fire at the residential treatment facility in Clinton in which he lived.
The Clinton Police Department in a release stated that at approximately 12:44 a.m., Clinton emergency dispatchers received multiple 911 calls reporting a structure fire at 82 High Street. Clinton fire and police units found the two-story home fully engulfed in flames.
Fire personnel cleared the home and extinguished the fire with no injuries.
As fire personnel worked to control the fire, Clinton Police Department personnel began investigating possible causes of the blaze. Through this investigation, a suspect was quickly located and identified. Investigators obtained a search warrant for the remains of the structure and questioned the suspect, who was a resident of the facility. The investigation determined that the suspect, Brandon Wyzkowski, 27, was responsible for setting the fire.
Wyzkowski was arrested; charged with first-degree arson, first degree reckless endangerment, and first degree criminal mischief; and transported to Middletown Superior Court for arraignment.
