Best on the Shoreline!
It's time to nominate your favorites for the 2021 Best on the Shoreline Awards!
Steven Charles Wright, of Guilford, husband of Susan Griffin Wright, died March 20, from complications of amyotrophic lateral sclerosis (ALS), more commonly known as Lou Gehrig’s disease. He was born in Waterbury on Aug. 10, 1943, to Wilhelmina and Joseph A. Wright. He was the youngest of four boys and predeceased by siblings, Joseph, Richard, and Robert.
Steve grew up in Waterbury and attended the Hartt School of Music in pursuit of becoming a conductor before attending Waterbury Technical College where he received an associate degree in computer science. He then went on to work at SNET (Southern New England Telephone) as a computer programmer analyst for 28 years. There, he met his wife of 38 years, Susan Griffin Wright. Together, they enjoyed traveling and spending time with family and friends. His hobbies included tending to his many beautiful gardens and houseplants, woodworking, home improvements and solving any problem that came his way. Diagnosed with ALS in May 2020, he fought to continue doing the things he loved and was a strong spirit trapped in a body that failed him.
Steven is survived by his wife; two daughters, Pamela Soisson (Thomas) and Robin Norman (Arthur); four grandchildren, Tasha Treloar (Nick), Kara Treloar (Rocco), Connor Soisson, and Claire Soisson; and one great-grandchild, Jayden Treloar. He also leaves behind many beloved nieces, nephews, and cousins.
Friends and family will be received from 5 to 7 p.m. on Friday, March 26, at Mulryan Funeral Home, 725 Hebron Avenue, Glastonbury. A private service will be held for close family. The service will be livestreamed via: https://us02web.zoom.us/j/89860615054?pwd=NjRzZW4xMXRFZTZoc040SjZZK1JqQT09. Passcode: 018943.
